Sunrise Easter service held outside capitol

RALEIGH Several churches helped pull off a sunrise service outside the state capitol on Sunday.

"It draws us together across lines that often divide us. And I think this is a very important time," Raleigh Mennonite Church Rev. Duane Beck said.

Hundreds of people bundled up as the sun rose above downtown Raleigh. Worshippers say the non-denominational service was very powerful.

They hope to celebrate the Easter holiday the same way next year.
