Firefighters were still out dousing hot spots early Friday morning at the Wendell Country Club. Some 60 golf carts burnt to a crisp after the building where they were stored went up in flames. it's believed lightning struck around midnight - likely causing the blaze.

About the same time, there was another fire with the same presumed cause.

Firefighters rushed to a house on Sylvan Lane in north Raleigh just west of Leesville Road. The family got out. It appears damage is worst up near the attic area.
