Homeless mission sees more need

DURHAM The organization has seen a 7 percent increase in the number of requests for assistance, while at the same time, it's seen a 4 percent decrease in cash donations from the public.

Still, the news isn't all bad. Business at the Mission's thrift store is booming as more people try to stretch their dollars. Income from the store is up 39 percent and the Mission plans to open a second location.

It's moving into a property at 10701 Glenwood Ave - that's near Brier Creek. A grand opening is planned for July.
