Police: Raleigh shootings unrelated

Three shootings include one at nightclub
RALEIGH According to police, the first victim reported being shot around 1 a.m. while in the parking lot of the Valero Mart at 1800 New Bern Ave.

The victim, 22-year-old Bennie Langley was shot in his leg.

The second victim, 48-year-old Jesse Spain, told police her was walking along New Bern Avenue near Trawick Road when someone fired shots from a moving vehicle. Spain was struck in the wrist.

The third victim, 20-year-old Quentin Freeman, said he was in the parking lot of the Black Tie nightclub on New Bern Ave. when shots were fired. He received an injury to his wrist.

In the last incident, police say someone reported shots fires at or between vehicles traveling on New Bern Ave. in front of WakeMed. No injuries were reported in that incident.

Raleigh police said they received a vehicle description from that last shooting, but after further investigation, they don't believe that vehicle is connected in the shooting.

However, the driver of the vehicle, 32-year-olf Frank Reginal Gaddy, led officers on a short chase when they tried to stop him for questioning.

He is charged with speeding to elude arrest and assault on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon. The assault charge stems from the suspect attempting to cause a collision with a law enforcement vehicle that was pursuing him.

Police said the shootings were not part of a crime spree and are not related to one another.
