RALEIGH --
Wake County closed the recreational swimming area at Beaverdam and Sandling beaches on Falls Lake due to elevated levels of bacteria on Tuesday.Beaverdam had to be shut down just before the Fourth of July holiday, because of the same problem. But they later re-opened the beach just in time for the weekend.Click here for photos of the recent closure
High bacteria levels also forced it to close in June. Sandling Beach was also closed in May because of the bacteria problem.
The lake is not closed to fishing and other swimming areas at Falls Lake will remain open.
