Second body found in Jordan Lake

CHATHAM COUNTY The body is identified as 60-year-old James Adams of Concord, NH. Two fishermen found him in the lake around 9:15 Wednesday near the Crosswinds boating access just north of U.S. 64 at Wilsonville.

The sheriff's office said an investigation is underway, but it found out that Adams and his wife were vacationing in the area. She returned to NH Tuesday and he remained at Jordan Lake to camp and fish.

His body was taken to UNC Hospitals for an autopsy.

The sheriff's office said there are no witnesses other than the fishermen who found the body, and there is no indication of foul play at this time.

The body is the third one that has been recovered from the lake within a week.

The first body was pulled Saturday. The victim is identified as NC State student, 23-year-old Stephen Patrick Russell.

The second body was found Tuesday afternoon and is identified as Brandon McCray of Durham.

Authorities believe all of the victims drowned.
