Triangle storms take out power

CARY AccuWeather Meteorologist Chris Hohmann said parts of Cary lost power as winds approached 70 mph in a few areas.

The storms didn't cause too much damage in the Triangle, but it did split a tree in half on Marquette Drive.

Traffic lights were also out because of the weather.

Progress Energy said three feeder lines and one substation were taken out by storms, but power was restored within hours.
