Woman injured in motorcycle crash

CLAYTON The crash happened around 1:15 a.m. on Business Highway 70 west near Regency Drive.

Authorities said 40-year-old Kimberly Cockrell Lockhart crashed while driving a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle. An investigation revealed she was impaired by alcohol and was traveling at an excessive speed when she fell off the bike.

Lockhart was going 70 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Lockhart was seriously injured and taken by ambulance to Wake Med. He condition as of Tuesday morning is unknown.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, but they are still investigating.
