Party spokesman Jordan Shaw said Fetzer and Kate Spina got married Saturday in a small wedding.
Fetzer was the mayor of Raleigh for six years during the 1990s. He recently served as a political consultant for clients including former U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole.
He defeated three other candidates in June to become party chairman.
Fetzer and Spina met while working on the campaign trail.
