Goldsboro man charged in infant death

GOLDSBORO The Goldsboro Police Department says they were contacted by social service workers after Diamond Smith was admitted to Wayne Memorial Hospital on October 14.

The child had fractured ribs and unexplained bleeding on the brain. She died on Friday.

Now, they've charged her father - 24-year-old Ronald Everette Smith - with murder. They say the child's death was caused by aggravated child abuse.
