Clayton home catches fire again

CLAYTON

Firefighters were dispatched to 12 Cameo Court just after 8 a.m. Tuesday. When they arrived at the house, they discovered a small fire in the interior of the structure, which is under construction.

Authorities say construction on the house is almost complete, but no one has ever occupied the home.

The same property burned on October 31, along with another home in the neighborhood. Fire investigators determined both of those fires were intentionally set.

Investigators believe the most recent fire also was set intentionally. Since the home was already damaged from October's fire, investigators are unable to estimate the monetary damage. The builder had not repaired the damaged from the first fire.

Anyone with information about this fire or the earlier fires is asked to contact the Clayton Police Department at 919-553-4611. Callers may also contact Clayton Crime Stoppers at 359-TIPZ (8479).
