Bodies found at home after fire

JOHNSTON COUNTY

It happened Thursday morning at a residence at 125 Hollow Oak Drive in Johnston County. That's near the Four Oaks community between Benson and Smithfield on Highway 301.

The fire was reported just before 10 a.m. Witnesses say a relative found the body of 65-year-old Sue Ann Beasley. Her husband - 66-year-old L.C. Beasley - was found dead in a blue shed near the house.

Mr. Beasley's Chevy pickup was also missing from the house. Detectives later determined it had been involved in an accident Wednesday night on Raleigh Road and had been towed by a wrecker company.

Authorities have not said how the couple died nor if there are any suspects in their deaths.
