Detectives say three men approached the students in the parking lot of a Wachovia Bank.
One of the suspects had a BB gun and another was armed with a knife.
One student was shot in the leg, but not seriously injured.
The suspects were last seen running in the direction of Ninth Street.
Officials have not said if they have any leads in the case.
