No sign of driver in fatal hit and run

DURHAM

That's because the 19-year-old is from Mexico and has no driver's license or known photo identification. Investigators have received a few tips about Tanilo Rosales' whereabouts. One tipster claimed he was hiding out from authorities in Hillsborough.

Troopers say Bryant Mitchell, 37, and Timothy "TJ" Parrish Jr., 24, died early Saturday morning when their Ford station wagon hit a tree near Miami Boulevard and Pleasant Drive. Investigators say they were eastbound on US 70 at Pleasant Drive when he front left side of Rosales' SUV hit the rear right side of their car - spinning it out of control.

Investigators say the Chevy Trailblazer driven by Rosales was located in Durham. It is being tested for paint that may have been transferred from the victims' vehicle during the crash.

Troopers say neither Mitchell nor Parrish were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. The restraints may not have saved their lives. It's estimated Rosales was driving 85 to 90 mph.

Mitchell and Parrish lived in the same neighborhood less than 2 miles from the crash site.

Anyone with information about Rosales' whereabouts is urged to contact the NC Highway Patrol at (800) 662-7956.
