Five arrested in Fayetteville drug bust

FAYETTEVILLE

A SWAT team helped in the bust at 300 Longbranch Court. Officers say they watched men weighing and bagging drugs in the front yard of the home.

Among the items seized were marijuana, crack cocaine, and 19 weapons - including a fully automatic AK-47 assault rifle.

Charged are:

  • Devin Byers, 20, for possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver marijuana, and conspiracy to sell narcotics.
  • Jamal Johnson, 24, for possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver marijuana, and conspiracy to sell narcotics.
  • Rochelle Byers, 71, for possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver cocaine and possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver marijuana.
  • Daniel Smith, 22, for possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver marijuana, and conspiracy to sell narcotics.
  • Lafayette Avery, 20, for possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver marijuana, and conspiracy to sell narcotics.
