Alexander Hargett, 37, of 6420 Brookshire Street, Fayetteville was taken into custody after Delta flight 3928 from Memphis arrived at the gate Tuesday afternoon.
Investigators said Hargett was acting erratically on the flight before he suddenly attacked a male passenger from Idaho.
Hargett is charged with simple assault.
