The accident happened at around 12:30 p.m., Sunday at the family's home at 129 Bass Lake Road.
Witnesses said the child was struck after darting in front of the ATV. The child struck his head on concrete in the back yard when he fell.
No charges are anticipated in the accident.
The child's name and that of his father are being withheld pending notification of relatives.
