CUMBERLAND COUNTY The 42-year-old disappeared on March 10, 2002 while walking along Highway 301 and Brooklyn Circle.

Authorities say Jacobs was the victim of foul play since detectives nor his family have been able to find him.

On Wednesday, a team of forensic specialists from NC State will search the area for new evidence in Jacobs' case.

Dr. Billy Oliver, a registered professional archaeologist and co-director of the North Carolina Program for Forensic Science, will lead the effort.
