Man dies after sports bar shooting

FAYETTEVILLE

The Sports Fan bar is located on Village Drive in front of Cape Fear Valley Hospital.

Witnesses told police two men were involved in an argument inside the sports bar and then took the dispute outside. That's when one of the men, 32-year-old Michael Edward McCloskey, allegedly shot 39-year-old William Arthur Kraai.

When officers arrived at the scene, they say they found Kraai with a bullet wound to the upper part of his body.

Police say McCloskey fled the scene on foot but officers found him at the corner of Villiage and Ireland drives.

Kraai died after being taken to the hospital.

McCloskey is charged with first-degree murder.

Police say they are looking for the murder weapon, which was discarded between the area of the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and the intersection of Village and Ireland drives.

If anyone finds the small caliber handgun, police say do not touch it and call 911.
