Police were investigating a crash that left a car sitting in the yard of an apartment complex Wednesday morning.

It happened at the Trestles Apartment Homes near the intersection of Calvary Drive and Capital Boulevard.

Pictures from the scene showed the car's bumper shorn off by the impact and heavy damage to the side of the vehicle.

Investigators said the driver hit the curb in front of the building and became airborne. He then hit a tree, bounced off, and landed in some bushes just inches from a stairwell.

Officers were working to figure out what happened.

The driver was treated for injuries by paramedics at the scene.
