Historic train station on the move

ELM CITY

Workers placed it on wheels and moved it Friday from Main Street to a spot behind a nearby Methodist Church.

CSX Railroad donated the depot to the town, but the catch was it had to move it off the railroad's right of way.

Town leaders say the old brick building, which features high vaulted ceilings, will be converted into Elm City's first community center.
