It happened around 8:18 p.m. Thursday on Cedar Creek Road near Bureau Dr. Police say 40-year-old Douglas Thaggard of Charlotte was traveling west on Cedar Creek when he struck 82-year-old Peter Bricker, III of Pine Knolls Shores.
Police say Bricker was attempting to cross Cedar Creek Rd. and was not in a crosswalk when Thaggard's vehicle struck him.
No charges have been filed against Thaggard.
