One person killed in east Raleigh shooting

RALEIGH It happened around 9 p.m. inside the Beltline at Crabtree Boulevard and North Raleigh Boulevard.

Authorities say when they arrived at the scene, they found one victim dead. They say the case is being investigated as a homicide.

Witnesses say another person was transported to the hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time.

Neighbors say they heard five to six gunshots. Resident Brittany Bennett says she first thought someone was playing with their gun, but later heard ambulances' sirens.

She also says there has been an increase in problems like this in recent months.

"It's sad," Bennett said. "The neighborhood it seems like its going down."

Further details about the shootings have not been released at this time.
