Authorities say the man went over the dam on the river. They say his kayak resurfaced, but he did not.
Two other kayakers made it to shore safely and called 911.
Crews ended their search Sunday night at 2 a.m., and resumed it around 7 a.m. Monday. Two military aircrafts from Fort Bragg are also assisting with the search.
Further details about the man and the search are not being released at this time.
Authorities say kayakers frequent the Little River, but with more than 12 inches of rain from recent storms, the water is high and dangerous.
