It happened between Carlos and North Bend drives.
Investigators said a line of cars had stopped to allow 79-year-old Florence Jean McMahan to cross in an area without a crosswalk.
A driver didn't see the woman and came around the line of cars and struck her.
McMahan was taken to WakeMed where she was listed in good condition.
