Deputies say on Monday, October 25, the child's mother took him to the emergency room around 3:15 p.m. because he was not responding normally.
The child was non-responsive when he arrived at the hospital and was later pronounced dead.
A preliminary autopsy revealed that the child died from trauma to his body. However, detectives say it is not clear if the trauma was accidental or intentional.
The case remains under investigation.
