Woman hit with shovel in robbery

November 5, 2010 3:03:33 PM PDT
Police say a robber snatched a 21-year-old woman's wallet outside the State Employees Credit Union at 110 S. Elliott Road Friday afternoon and jumped into a black pickup truck.

What happened next is unusual.

The victim got into her own car and started following the truck. When it came to a stop light, she got out of her car and jumped into the back of the pickup. During a struggle with the robber, the woman was hit in the back with a shovel and was knocked out of the truck.

The woman - whose name has not been made public - suffered minor injuries. The robber has not been caught.
