According to authorities, Chyler Nicole Huebner was hit when her father, John Bradley Huebner, was returning home and backing into the driveway.
An accident report released about the incident shows investigators are unsure whether the girl was standing still or moving at the time.
She was taken to WakeMed with life-threatening injuries, and died Saturday afternoon.
Police won't release any more details, except to say they believe this was an accident.
