Autopsy: Four-year-old died from blow to head

SMITHFIELD The state medical examiner released the autopsy report on Teghan Skiba on Wednesday.

In July, Skiba was admitted to the hospital by her mother's boyfriend after he claimed she had fallen off the bed. However, doctors found she had cuts, bite marks and head trauma.

Skiba died days later from the injures to her head.

Jonathan Richardson, 21, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of the 4-year-old.

Skiba's mother, Helen Reyes was indicted in September on charges of felony child abuse.

Investigators say Reyes knowingly left her daughter in a dangerous situation with her boyfriend.

Richardson is accused of beating, biting, and sexually assaulting the girl while Reyes was out of state for military training.

Prosecutors have said they will seek the death penalty against him.
