Flakes melt, sun returns as storm leaves Triangle

The precipitation seen overnight Saturday- made for some slick spots on area roads. As always, bridges and overpasses tend to freeze first, drivers be careful out there.

The Department of Transportation had road salting crews on standby Saturday night if needed.

"We're looking at the weather assessing what may happen," Cary Public Works Director Scott Hecht said. "Our full staff is on call, which is up to in excess of 200 people that are ready to come in."

Sunday's weather looks much better with clear skies and highs in the low 40s.
