Tree falls on two Durham homes

A tree fell on two homes in Durham Tuesday night, almost hitting a person inside one of the houses.The tree toppled onto the homes in the 2600 hundred block of Lawndale Avenue just after 9 p.m.

A firefighter at the scene said the tree was four feet in diameter and old.

The tree crashed into a bedroom and a person was in the bed at the time. No one was hurt.

Everyone got out of the homes safely.

It is unclear what caused the tree to fall.
