Officials say the driver ran off the road while driving through a construction zone on I-40 near U.S. Highway 1. No one was hurt.
It is unclear what caused the driver of the truck to crash into the bridge.
Despite the truck being in the median, commuters still experienced major back-ups during the morning rush hour due to onlooker delays.
Several lanes of I-40 had to be closed when crews moved the truck around 9 a.m.
