Police investigate Fayetteville shootings

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. The first shooting happened at about 2:00 a.m. at 6323 Raeford Road.

When officers arrived, they were told the victim had already been transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

He has been identified as Joseph Cason, 17. Officials say he suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, and was being treated.

The second shooting happened at around 2:14 a.m. at 6261 Raeford Road.

Police say they received a call for a traffic accident, but arrived to find William Trower, 18, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

He was transported to Cape Fear Valley and later flown to UNC Chapel Hill, where he underwent surgery, and is listed in critical condition.

No suspects have been arrested, the investigation is on-going, and police are not sure yet if the incidents are related.
