Federal agents arrested 18-year-old Fausto Palma at his home the day before his graduation from Jordan High School.
The teen says he's been in the U.S. since leaving Honduras at the age of 12. Now, he says he just wants to stay.
"In North Carolina, I feel freedom and I can do whatever I want," Palma said. "I feel secure; the teachers are good, they help me a lot, and I feel like this is my house. I just want to be here."
Palma's attorney says poor paperwork is to blame for the teen's deportation and they need the federal government to give them more time to file an appeal.
