Hoke County Sheriff Hubert Peterkin said the investigation began with a missing juvenile report just after midnight Sunday morning.
The missing teen was located by deputies just before 6 a.m., and she allegedly told them she'd been sexually assaulted by a man named "Marcus."
After more investigation, detectives charged 19-year-old Marcus Dawayne McBryde of 3390 Turnpike Rd., Raeford with felony indecent liberties with a child and felony statutory sexual offense of 15-year-old.
McBryde was in the Hoke County Detention Center Monday.
