Police trying to ID person in soldier murder

FAYETTTEVILLE

On September 21 just after 9 p.m., officers found 22-year-old Chad Patrick Dellit of Fulton, Ill lying in a grassy area between Inn-Keeper Hotel on Skibo Road and a Christian book store, across from Cross Creek Mall.

Dellit had been shot in the head and declared dead at the scene.

Fayetteville Police Spokesman Gavin MacRoberts said officers "saw the suspect running towards ... behind the shopping complex." But they were unable to locate the person.

On Thursday, Fayetteville Police released surveillance video from a security camera located on the side of the hotel of a person-of-interest seen running from the scene.
