The wreck happened on Durham Freeway (NC-147) near Hillandale Road around 12:30 Saturday afternoon.
Witnesses said the SUV flipped several times causing the driver and passenger to be trapped inside. Both people had to be cut out of the vehicle and taken to Duke Medical Center.
They are expected to be okay.
