Victims' names in workplace shooting released

STAR, N.C.

Three people were killed at work when a coworker shot them before turning the gun on himself:

Daniel Thomas Davis, 32 of Star, was a cousin to the suspect; Jose Galdino Lopez Izquierdo, 25 of Asheboro, and the name of the third person killed has not been released as police are still trying to notify the family.The fourth victim, Florentino Tellez Aparicio, 21 of Candor, is at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill and considered to be in stable condition.

The shooter, 50-year-old Ronald Dean Davis of Star, died Saturday morning in Chapel Hill at UNC Hospital from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Authorities said his wound was self-inflicted. They said Davis went home after the rampage and shot himself.

Davis was described as disgruntled for reasons currently unknown said Montgomery County Sheriff Dempsey Owens. Davis is believed to have targeted his coworkers at the lumber company where 16 people were working when the shooting happened early Friday.

The sheriff will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
