Southpoint to hold food drive Saturday

The start of summer means many children who rely on free or reduced lunches through their schools won't have that safety net.

Starting Saturday, the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina will be holding a food drive at the Streets at Southpoint.

They are looking for items liked canned soups, pastas, and kid friendly items like applesauce and granola bars. You can also donate money to the food bank or bring items from Food Lion.

The food drive runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
