The driver ran off Six Forks Road near Wake Forest Road around 12:30 a.m.
Authorities have identified the driver as 45-year-old Alford Brown of Wendell.
Officials said no other drivers were involved in the accident.
The intersection was shut down for several hours, but has since reopened.
