Needham Bryant Sloan, 57, was found dead at a mobile home along Highway 50 just south of Creedmoor shortly before 10 a.m.
Now, 38-year-old Scott Michael Edwards is charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery.
Sheriff Wilkins said the men knew each other.
