Teen charged in Henderson shooting

Police have charged a 17 year old with allegedly intimidating a witness to the killing of 17-year-old Ja'Quon Ty'ree Seward in Henderson Thursday afternoon.

Corey Cheek Jr., 17, of Davis Street, was arrested Friday. Bond was set at $10,000.

Seward's alleged killer was already behind bars. Police arrested 20-year-old Daquan Ortiz Thursday. He's charged with voluntary manslaughter and was being held without bond.

Seward was shot near the intersection of Davis and Nicholas streets around 1:30 p.m. Thursday. He was rushed to Maria Parham Medical Center, where he died a short time later.
