Video gambling crackdown nets more arrests

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.

Deputies said they made four arrests Wednesday after officers doing surveillance at Shamrocks Sweepstakes on North Main Street in Hope Mills said they saw five electronic gambling machines being loaded into a truck.

Arrested were:

  • Michael Thomas Hagens, 45, of Cumberland Creek Drive, Fayetteville
  • Woodrow Inman, Jr., 55 of Piney Mountain Drive, Hope Mills
  • Jorge Santiago Perez, Jr., 32, of Abbotts Park Drive, Fayetteville
  • Keith Lambert Graham, 54, of Cumberland Creek Road, Fayetteville

The men are charged with operating/possessing gambling devices and operating/transporting gambling devices.

Inman also faces a felony charge of possessing more than five gaming machines defined as slot machines.

The arrests came after the sheriff charged five other people in raids on parlors Tuesday.
