Arrest made in Henderson rape

HENDERSON, N.C.

A 50-year-old woman said she was walking down Young Avenue when a man with a gun forced her off the road and sexually assaulted her.

Police have arrested 20-year-old Daquan Foster on first degree rape and second degree kidnapping charges.

Police haven't said if Foster's arrest is connected to other sexual assaults in Vance County.

Brenda Davis lives near the crime scene and called 911 Thursday.

"I was sitting down on my porch when she came down the street walking this way crying saying help her she had been raped and a gun was pointed at her head," Davis said. "It's an abandoned house up the street, she said a man came out, he had dreads and lowered her down into the woods."

Police haven't released Foster's photo to "preserve the integrity of any ongoing investigations."
