It happened around 6:15 a.m. on Water's Edge Drive near the Cliffdale Road intersection.

The pedestrian has been identified as 36-year-old George Huntley.
Huntley remains hospitalized at UNC Health Care in stable condition.
At this time, the driver of the vehicle that struck Huntley is not facing any charges.
