Jamie Lloyd Ayers, 42, was also an assistant coach on the boy's football team, a PE teacher, and a health teacher.
Ayers, of Yellow Poplar Ave, Wake Forest, was booked into the Wake County jail under a $100,000 bond.
The Wake County Public School System said Ayers had been suspended from his job following his arrest.
