A passerby called officials to report a wreck on Eastman Road in Southern Pines.
When authorities arrived, they found a vehicle on the shoulder of the road near a wooded area. Officials determined the driver of the vehicle was deceased and had been shot multiple times.
The victim was later identified as 26-year-old Sean Jeremy McLean, of Southern Pines.
The Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate this incident. They ask that anyone with information call the Moore County Sheriff's Office at (910) 947-2931.
