Police: Driver going 102 mph in fatal crash

RALEIGH

It happened around 2 a.m. on Falls of Neuse Road at Tabriz Point.

According to the wreck report, 23-year-old Samuel Johnson was driving 102 miles per hour when he lost control of his car, and crashed into a light pole and tree.

Johnson died at the scene.

The crash brought down power lines, and shut down the road for hours.

Police suspect Johnson was driving drunk.
