It happened just after 3:30 P.M. on US 64 just east of NC 58 in Nashville.
Officials said the trike style motorcycle lost a rear tire causing it to hit the median, ejecting the driver and passenger.
Gary Wayne Meeks, 64 was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. Meeks’ wife suffered minor injuries.
The accident closed US 64 for about an hour.
