Durham firefighters battled a smoky fire Friday afternoon.

It happened at an auto garage in the 200 block of Hoover Street around 1:45 p.m.

The fire sent thick, black smoke throughout the area. Fire crews managed to contain the blaze to the building where it started.

Fire officials said mechanics were working on a vehicle and a fuel line was cut and caught fire.

No one was injured.
